Leo plays soccer for his school team. On Friday, his team had a big game against Green Hill School. All week, Leo was nervous. He practiced every day after class.
On the day of the game, many people came to watch. Leo saw his mom and his little sister in the crowd. The game started, and both teams played hard. After the first half, the score was one to one.
In the last minute, Leo got the ball. He ran fast. He kicked the ball at the goal — but it hit the post and bounced back. Leo wanted to cry. But then his friend Marco got the ball and scored. The team won, two to one!
After the game, Leo said to Marco, “I missed. I am sorry.”
Marco smiled. “You ran with the ball, and I finished it. We are a team. We win together.”
Leo felt better. On the bus home, the whole team sang songs. It was a good day.
