- always – at all times; on every occasion
- frequently – happens again and again; at short intervals
- hardly ever – almost never; very rarely
- never – at no time; not ever
- occasionally – happens now and then; less often than “sometimes”
- often – many times; happens regularly
- rarely – almost never; not happening much
- seldom – not often; only a few times
- sometimes – at some times; not regularly
- usually – in most cases; more often than not
- Adverbs of Time
- already – happened before now, possibly earlier than expected
- currently – happening at the present time
- early – before the usual or expected time
- eventually – in the end; after a long time or delay
- finally – after a long wait; at last
- immediately – right away; without any delay
- late – after the expected or usual time
- later – after the present time; in the future
- lately – during the last few weeks or months
- now – at this moment; right now
- once – one single time
- recently – not long ago; within the last days or weeks
