As…as — quick guide

To say two things are equal, use as + adjective + as:

She is as tall as her brother.
This book is as interesting as that one.
He runs as fast as he can.

For unequal comparisons, add not:

She is not as tall as her brother. (= she is shorter)
This isn’t as expensive as that one. (= cheaper)

With nouns (amounts), use as much / as many:

I have as much money as you. (uncountable: money)
She has as many friends as I do. (countable: friends)
