Word Fall

The sky is raining English. Type each word — or tap its letters on a phone — before it hits the ground. Three lives, a combo meter, and a fall speed that keeps climbing. How long can you last?

How to play

  1. Pick your level — it sets how long and how literary the falling words are.
  2. Press Start the rain. Words begin to fall down the stage.
  3. Keyboard: just start typing the word you want to clear — usually the lowest one. Finish it and it pops.
  4. Phone: the lowest word glows — tap its letters in order from the letter bank.
  5. A word that lands costs a life (you have three) and resets your combo.
  6. The rain falls faster the better you play. Beat your saved best score per level.

Where the words come from

The word pools are shared with the other games: everyday A1–A2 words at beginner (including the basic topic lists), B1 vocabulary at intermediate, and words from the Academic Word List and Smart Words at advanced. Words that got past you are listed after the round — meet them again with definitions in Word Rescue.

Frequently asked questions

How does a typing game help my English?
Typing a word under time pressure forces your fingers to know its spelling — no time to sound it out letter by letter. That automatic spelling is the same skill you need for fast writing and messaging in English. The word pools are real learner vocabulary (the same words behind Word Guess and Word Rescue), so every round is also silent vocabulary review.
I'm on a phone — how do I play without a keyboard?
Word Fall has a tap mode: the lowest word glows, and its letters (mixed with a few decoys) appear as buttons. Tap them in the right order to spell the word. The game picks the best mode for your device automatically, and you can switch anytime with the input toggle.
How does scoring work?
Each cleared word scores 10 points per letter, times your combo multiplier (up to ×4 after nine words in a row). A word that reaches the ground costs one of your three lives and resets the combo. The fall speed and spawn rate rise as you clear more words — your best score per level is saved in your browser.
